I am a writer, editor and dramaturge from the Greater Toronto Area, currently based in Montréal. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia University, and a continuing education certificate in Professional Editorial Standards from Queen’s University. I’ve also completed mentorships and creation labs from some of my favourite Canadian arts institutions, including the Playwrights’ Guild of Canada, Playwrights’ Workshop Montréal, Theatre Gargantua and the Quebec Writers’ Federation. Currently, I’m a member of the first cohort of Page Turn, a program supporting emerging voices in criticism and arts journalism.
As a freelance writer, I’ve worked on podcast episodes, press releases, short film scripts, personal essays and more listicles than I can count. When I’m not writing, I’m supporting the Canadian publishing industry as an Editorial Assistant for a university press.
Some of my ongoing writing projects include:
COOL
A unity play following Eliza, a teenage baby-sitter, and Peter, the young father she works for, COOL is a show exploring connection, climate and the quiet tensions of everyday life. COOL began as a short one-act play developed as part of the Young Creators’ Unit offered at Playwrights’ Workshop Montréal. Since then, the play has been substantially expanded and rewritten with mentorship from Quebec Writers’ Federation and Playwrights’ Guild of Canada, and grant support from Conseil des arts de Montreal and the Canada Council for the Arts. In 2023, COOL was selected for a workshop and staged reading at the Women’s Work Festival in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
Currently, I’m looking for collaborators to help bring this play through the next stages of development and on to the stage. To learn more or to be part of the show’s development, drop me a line through my Get in touch page.
Page Turn
Offering mentorship and support to early-career arts writers, Page Turn is a program facilitated by Neworld Theatre and funded by Canada Council for the Arts. Along with monthly mentorship meetings, this program will allow me to contribute to the upcoming Page Turn podcast and publish reviews and features in arts outlets across the country.
If you have a project you’d like me to consider reviewing or a tip for an arts story that needs to be told, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
